At Adventure Data, I cofounded the company and led the mechanical engineering efforts to design innovative solutions for outdoor enthusiasts. One of our flagship products, the Lyte Probe, was developed to help backcountry skiers and travelers assess slope stability, enhancing safety and decision-making in challenging environments.

Key Contributions:

  • Product Design and Development: Designed the Lyte Probe using SolidWorks, focusing on consumer product design and electronic packaging. I employed surfacing and mold design tools to create a robust and user-friendly device.

  • Waterproof Enclosure Design: Developed a waterproof electronic enclosure, a critical component for the Lyte Probe's functionality and reliability in harsh outdoor conditions.

  • Rapid Prototyping: Utilized 3D printing and various shop tools for rapid prototyping, allowing for quick validation and iteration of design concepts to ensure optimal performance.

  • Customer Engagement and Growth: Engaged directly with our customer base, which led to organic growth and valuable feedback. Implemented a 'guerrilla' style marketing campaign to effectively promote our product and reach a wider audience.
